Board of Education: The Holy Name
Board of Education meets every second Wednesday of the month in the Hofbauer
Room in the Rectory to promote the best interests of the parish and aid the
pastor and administration in the formation of educational policies for the
school, CD, and adult education programs.
Boy Scouts: Meetings are held every third Thursday of the month in the Holy Name cafeteria at 7:00PM.
CCD: Parents of public school students who wish their children to receive religious education, can call the rectory at 451-6622.

Elizabeth Ministry: The Elizabeth
Ministry is an outreach program for women during the special time of motherhood.
It enables the parish to give reassurance and encouragement to women who are
pregnant, caring for a newborn, or to reach out to women who are coping with a
miscarriage, or the loss of an infant or child.

Girl Scouts/Brownies: The Girl
Scouts and Brownies meet weekly for fun learning and sharing activities.
Holy Name Confraternity: The
Confraternity is open to all women of the parish. Confraternity members care for
the church in the maintenance of altar linens, priest and server vestments,
banners and flowers. They also provide volunteer support to the Humble Jumble
Store, assist at funeral luncheons, hold bake sales and card parties, and are
involved in the Outreach Program and the Welcoming Committee. Members also
publish a newsletter, visit homebound parishioners and participate in spiritual
activities including Mass, the Rosary, and the Annual Day of Recollection.
Holy Name Elementary School:
The Mission of Holy Name School is to pass on the
message and values of Jesus and to foster the total growth and development of
each person for service to the Catholic Church and Society.
Holy Name Housing Corporation:
Located in the north wing of Holy Name School, the Holy Name Housing Corporation
purchases and renovates substandard homes in the Holy Name area, hires and
trains neighborhood residents in construction skills, and makes renovated
housing available for sale to low and moderate income families. For more info,

Holy Name Mixed Bowling League:
Any adult 18 or over who likes to bowl is welcome to join this league which
bowls Sunday evenings at Kelly's Hilltop Lanes.
Meetings are held at 7:00pm on the third Monday of each month in the Religious Education/Formation Office located in the north wing of Holy Name School. Contact: Fr. Frank Baumert at 451-6622. (top)

Humble Jumble Store offers customers a wide variety of used clothing, appliances, jewelry, books, toys, records, linens, and other miscellaneous household items at affordable prices. Click HERE for more information!
Legion of Mary: The Legion of Mary
exists to promote spiritual values within the community. Members visit the
disabled in their homes, at the hospital, and in nursing homes. The Legion of
Mary EMEs also distribute Communion to shut-ins.
Liturgy Committee: The Liturgy
Committee enhances parish worship through the training and coordination of
liturgical ministers (Lectors, commentators, servers, ushers, greeters). They
plan and coordinate liturgies and music. All registered parishioners are welcome
to join this committee.
Music Ministry: Three
musical groups provide music for services at Holy Name:
Holy Name Men's Club:
Requests for funding other than the above should be submitted to the advisory board at the monthly meeting. The advisory board will then determine if the request is feasible and financially possible and shall report such determination to the membership. This excludes the clubs normal operating expenditures. The Men's Club also sponsors the "World Famous Frydays of Lent". The Holy Name Fish Fry is Omaha's largest fish fry, often serving over 2000 dinners, and an extraordinarily popular event. General meetings are held in the cafeteria on the first Tuesday of each month at 8:00pm. However, in March, meetings start at 6:00 with "Darts of March", and from April to September with horseshoe matches. Contact: John Hospodka, President - 561-8191 or Rick Peterson,

OK Group (Older Kids):
Outreach Program: It is our mission to visit, call, send cards or letters and pray for the elderly and shut ins and others who are in need of a loving gesture. We want our parishioners to know that they are not forgotten when they are unable to participate in parish activities or services. Contact: Barb Rutten - 553-8529
OTOC - Omaha Together One Community - OTOC is an
organization with 40 member institutions from all over Omaha and Bellevue. Holy
Name is one of these members. OTOC works to organize communities and teach
people ways to live out their faith in a public way and take a role as more

Pastoral (Parish) Council: The Pastoral Council meets every third Thursday in the Hofbauer Room at 7:00pm. They assist the pastor in policy making decisions regarding the parish's spiritual, educational, social and financial direction. Members are elected at-large and serve three-year terms.
Perpetual Adoration Society: Perpetual Adoration takes place in the Newman Chapel in Holy Name Church 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a wonderful opportunity to express our belief in the true presence of Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament. Contact: Vicki Davis at 553-6649 or Mary Potmesil at 451-2258.
Pinochle: Pinochle is
played every Thursday from 1-4pm in the Holy Name cafeteria. Anyone who likes to
play is welcome.
PROJECT JASON - Founded in honor of Holy Name parishioner, Jason Jolkowski, Project Jason is a non profit organization that provides hope
and assistance to families of missing people by lending support and resources until they are
reunited. Project Jason also strives to create and increase public awareness of missing people through a variety of outreach and educational activities.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society offers limited emergency aid to parishioners and anyone in need. All calls for assistance are taken at the rectory; 451-6622. Meetings are held Mondays at 4:00 pm
Soccer Club: Boys and girls from ages 5 through 15 from Holy Name School, the CCD program, and the neighborhood are welcome to play soccer during the spring and fall seasons. Jim Boyle 556 -2382 Soccer Club President Contact:
Telephone Prayer: The purpose of the telephone prayer group is to provide spiritual support for those who want someone to pray for them, their loved ones, friends, and needs. Contact: Evelyn Brown - 453-3153 - specialm@prodigy.net
The Welcoming Committee serves new members of Holy Name Parish to learn about what the parish has to offer and to facilitate "getting acquainted" with the neighborhood. They are there to answer questions and make new parishioners feel welcome. Contact: Peg Worthing at 551-1104.
