HOLY NAME MEN'S CLUB
Please take the time to renew your Holy Name Men's Club membership or to sign up for the first time. Simply place $15 ($10 for those age 62 or older) in an envelope marked "Men's Club" and add it to the collection at any Mass. Be sure to include your address for our monthly newsletter.
Before you join, you may want to know some of our accomplishments:
Putting on the biggest and most successful parish Fish Fry in the city of Omaha with an average of 2,000 dinner patrons each of seven Fridays during the Lenten Season.
Providing tuition assistance for any child that graduates from Holy Name and wishes to attend a Catholic high school. This year, we will distribute about $14,000 for tuition.
Awarding two annual scholarships for parish eighth-graders.
Financial and hands-on support of all H.N. athletics.
The hiring and supervision of an athletic director.
Operation and maintenance of the H.N. Fieldhouse, including utilities.
Financial support for all H.N. physical education equipment.
Financial support for portions of numerous school programs - from music class to the computer lab to continuing education programs for teachers.
Donation of a $5,000 floor-scrubbing machine to the parish to be used wherever needed but especially in the fieldhouse and cafeteria.
Hosting of Christmas Pizza parties for the students and their teachers.
Hosting of an annual Christmas Dinner for Men's Club and Confraternity members.
Donations to numerous groups throughout every calendar year, including: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Archbishop's campaign, the Holy Name Capital campaign, the Holy Name Calendar Club, alumni activities and many, many, more.
Finally, the Men's Club is an integral part of virtually every parish activity. You will see us dancing a jig at the St. Patrick's Day Party and serving as honor guard members at the funerals of our club members. We help to run the H.N. Golf Tournament as well as the Alumni Basketball/Volleyball Tournament. We usher at Mass and clean up the belfry when pigeons break in to roost. Our members coach sports and donate their time to read to H.N. students. We are indeed proud to be part of Holy Name. Please join us.
